10 Reasons to Choose Quality Early Learning and Child Care

Expert knowledge Early childhood educators are experts in child development and are trained to create inspiring learning environments!
Intentionality Early childhood educators provide your child the gift of time and attention. They will stop and explore the new flowers or jump in the mud puddles with your child.
Young at heart Early childhood educators know how to have fun! They’re not afraid to be silly and laugh with your child; all while nurturing your child’s creativity and helping to build their self-confidence.
Setting limits Every child needs reasonable boundaries, such as no playing ball inside. Early childhood educators set limits and support families in doing the same.
Love of literacy Early childhood educators read and tell stories, sing songs, and do puppet shows to inspire a love of language and to build early literacy skills.

Life skills Early childhood educators use their expertise to develop programs that use play as a tool for teaching math, literacy, science and essential life skills that last for life!
Making friends Early childhood educators are educated to appropriately support children to gain social skills, which are so important in making friends and developing positive relationships!

Workshop Descriptions

Session 1 – Becoming an Employer of Choice

How do you make your centre a place where people aspire to work? Organizations now, more than ever, say that competition for well-qualified staff has increased in the last few years. Detry Carragher, an award-winning management consultant will share insightful research related to attracting, hiring, and keeping top talent.  She’ll provide attendees with practical tips to improve recruitment efforts, elevate the candidate experience, and create a workforce who demonstrate a passion for their work.  Roll up your sleeves and get ready to embark on the insider’s journey to helping you become an employer of choice!

Session 2 – Innovative Recruitment Strategies

Remember the days when you simply had to advertise a job and the resumes flooded in?  Certainly, those were the good old days. With the heightened competition for workers, today’s recruitment approaches require a bit more originality and creativity to stand out from the crowd.  This fun and informative session will be filled with low-cost high impact strategies every attendee can implement immediately.  Let’s do this together, shake things up, and get people focusing on a career with you in early learning and child care.

Session 3 – Facilitative Supervision: The Heart of Retention

The research shows time and again that people desire respectful workplaces where their contribution is valued.  Facilitative supervision is an approach that emphasizes mentoring, joint problem solving and two-way communication.  In this session, we’ll discuss leadership styles, how to help individuals to set goals, autonomy and decision making, and how to work alongside a workforce with varying needs and interests.
