10 Reasons to Choose Quality Early Learning and Child Care

Expert knowledge Early childhood educators are experts in child development and are trained to create inspiring learning environments!
Intentionality Early childhood educators provide your child the gift of time and attention. They will stop and explore the new flowers or jump in the mud puddles with your child.
Young at heart Early childhood educators know how to have fun! They’re not afraid to be silly and laugh with your child; all while nurturing your child’s creativity and helping to build their self-confidence.
Setting limits Every child needs reasonable boundaries, such as no playing ball inside. Early childhood educators set limits and support families in doing the same.
Love of literacy Early childhood educators read and tell stories, sing songs, and do puppet shows to inspire a love of language and to build early literacy skills.

Turning Inside Outside: Addressing Anxiety in Children and Teens

According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, anxiety is the most prevalent mental health issue among Canadian children. Yet only one out of five children who need mental health services receives them.*

Are you a parent or education professional who's looking to learn more about how anxiety, depression, substance use, and sleep issues co-exist in children and teens?

Join us in Room 207 at Murphy's Pharmacies Community Centre for "Turning Inside Outside: Addressing Anxiety and Related Disorders in Children and Teens" by Halifax-based, clinical child psychologist Dr. Daniel Chorney.

Dr. Chorney will discuss anxiety and related disorders, as well as treatments available for each disorder. He will also recommend self-help resources (books, websites, and apps) that parents and education professionals can use at home or at work to support children with anxiety.

“Childhood is not a race to see how quickly a child can read, write and count. It is a small window of time to learn and develop at the pace that is right for each individual child. Earlier is not better.” – Magda Gerber
