Facilitator Bio:
Martin is Executive Director of the Learning Disabilities Association of Prince Edward Island, a not for profit registered charity, whose mission is to advance the interests of people with learning disabilities.
He works to a volunteer Board with responsibilities including; financial management, human resources, exploration of new program delivery, provision of advocacy and support while maintaining and improving on existing service provision.
In previous lifetimes Martin has been Executive Director of Community Care Homes in Canada and England, Program Manager for a charity in Vancouver supporting individuals with Mental Health issues living with homelessness and addictions. He also worked with his wife creating a program providing individuals with intellectual disabilities an independence program, to live fully functionally independently. He was once a Tax Inspector but maybe no one wants to know about that☺
Martin and his wife, Kathy, moved to Canada 20 years ago with five sons particularly hoping they would enjoy the freedom in early childhood that the Province offers. Martin and Kathy were also foster parents in England supporting children with co-occurring disorders.
