10 Reasons to Choose Quality Early Learning and Child Care

Expert knowledge Early childhood educators are experts in child development and are trained to create inspiring learning environments!
Intentionality Early childhood educators provide your child the gift of time and attention. They will stop and explore the new flowers or jump in the mud puddles with your child.
Young at heart Early childhood educators know how to have fun! They’re not afraid to be silly and laugh with your child; all while nurturing your child’s creativity and helping to build their self-confidence.
Setting limits Every child needs reasonable boundaries, such as no playing ball inside. Early childhood educators set limits and support families in doing the same.
Love of literacy Early childhood educators read and tell stories, sing songs, and do puppet shows to inspire a love of language and to build early literacy skills.

Confidence boost Early childhood educators provide safe opportunities for your child to be independent and to become confident in their personality and decision making skills.
Inspired learning Early childhood educators ask open-ended questions to inspire creative thought and curiosity, to encourage children to explore, and to make learning fun.
Life skills Early childhood educators use their expertise to develop programs that use play as a tool for teaching math, literacy, science and essential life skills that last for life!
Making friends Early childhood educators are educated to appropriately support children to gain social skills, which are so important in making friends and developing positive relationships!
Helping hand Everyone gets stumped by parenting from time to time - juggling schedules, demands, and behaviours. When it gets tough and you need someone to talk to, reach out to your child’s early childhood educator!

2020 AGM *New Date-- September 26th*

The ECDA Annual General Meeting Is Almost Here!

The Early Childhood Development Association of PEI would like to invite you to attend our Annual General Meeting. This will be held via Zoom on Saturday, September 26th, 2020 from 9 am to 10:30am

Under normal circumstances, a complimentary breakfast would be served, but since we will all be joining from the comfort of our homes or offices, feel free to enjoy your morning coffee and/or breakfast while tuning in!

The AGM allows our members a means to make changes to the way the ECDA does business. It is the opportunity to table a recommendation from the floor or to draw attention to an issue you wish to bring to the Board of Directors to consider. By having your voice heard, it is your time to really be involved in the operations and direction of the association. This is YOUR organization!

Voting is open to those who have a current Professional or Lifetime membership with the ECDA. A quorum of 10% of these members in attendance is required in order to conduct business.

We plan to have some fun while we host the meeting!! We are even going to have prize draws and closing remarks from Hon. Brad Trivers, Minister of Education and Lifelong Learning!!

Please Note:

  • There is no cost to attend.
  • Registration is required.
  • No PD hours are associated with this meeting.

Join us as we catch up on the year past and what is yet to come!

Please sign into the Zoom AGM Link AT LEAST 30 minutes prior to the start.

Why? We need time to sort out the virtual recording of member numbers to ensure we are in line with the law and we have our minimum number of required members, and then record proxy votes that you are bringing as well. Log-in, register and then go put your pot of coffee on our grab your muffin or bagel. This will be really appreciated so we have the time to do what we need and start the meeting on time.
