Workshop Description
Molly (3) was playing in the sandbox; when she finished alternating big and little rocks, she shouted, ”Look! I made a pattern!" As ECES, we know that this is a familiar claim made by many young children. But what is a pattern? How can we help children to extend this knowledge? Is it important that young children play and learn about patterns? Join me for a hand-on session where you will be exposed to the most current ideas about the value of reading, coping, and creating patterns. We will play with patterns, discuss their different types, exchange ideas, and take the time to critically think about early math education.
