There is so much to think about… and we must not forget our values and vision!
We are doing great at looking after our health and bodies, now it is time to feed our hearts and souls, as well as the children's and families'! How do we do this? … by tapping into our beliefs about how children learn; by observing and providing exploration and play opportunities; and then make learning visible.
We will reflect on the why’s of observing, and listening closely to all aspects of children’s lives with us; and examine simple ways to produce pedagogical documentation during these busy times.
Facilitator Biography: Liz Hicks
Liz, an elementary teacher from England, ECE diploma, 38 years in early childhood, in various capacities, and at present a private consultant working in early childhood education in NS, providing professional development in a variety of topics, environmental rating scales, also consultations and program coordination. I believe children are capable, curious and need to connect with people and the world around them, which is also a belief I have for the educators that work with the children. I believe in lifelong learning for all (especially myself!) and want to help educators provide the best environments and experiences for ALL children that encourage awe, wonder, learning and excitement in discovery.
