Become a Substitute

Do you enjoy working with young children and their families, and facilitating play as a tool for learning important skills for life? Do you have flexibility in your work schedule?
Substituting at a licensed early learning and child care centre could be the perfect fit for you! There are a variety of opportunities at various centre types including preschool, child care and family resource centres, in both French and English settings.

Register as an available substitute educator for PEI child care centres by completing the online form and uploading your resume. The information you submit will be stored in our database for centre directors to access when searching for a substitute. Centre supervisors and directors can access the substitute list in the Member Area.

Things To Know

  • You must be 18 years of age to register.
  • Having a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check already completed is recommended.
  • Emergency first aid certification is required.
  • Experience working within the early learning and child care system would be an asset.
  • Additional hiring requirements may apply.

Once submitted, you will not be able to edit or delete your application. Please contact the ECDA if you would like to have your application deleted to resubmit an updated application.
