1 Can I register to more than one centre?

Yes. You can register to multiple centres by conducting your search and applying to all centres shown in your resulting search. As not all centres are accepting online applications at this time, your application will only be submitted to those centres that are accepting applications. Check individual centres to determine if they are accepting online applications to their wait list.

2 I do not want to use the map. How can I search for a centre?

Click on the LIST VIEW tab at the top of the map to see your search result as a list.

3 How can I remove my registration to a centre?

The list of your centre registrations is viewable under MY ACCOUNT > LIST OF CHILDREN > CHILD’S NAME. Here you will find a list of the centre registration(s) for each child. Click the REMOVE REGISTRATION button to remove your child’s name from the centres wait list.

4 I require child care 6 months from now. Can I still register?

Yes. To request care 6 months into the future, you will need to specify a date under the CARE NEEDED option under MY ACCOUNT > LIST OF CHILDREN > CHILD’S NAME. Change the button from IMMEDIATELY to TO START and specify your desired start date. This information will be sent to each centre you register with. You may make changes to the CARE NEEDED date at anytime your child care requirements change.

5 My child has special needs. Can I provide this information to the centres?

Yes. You can communicate any special needs or requirements to centres by entering a message into the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION field under MY ACCOUNT > LIST OF CHILDREN > CHILD’S NAME.

6 I was already on the offline wait list for a centre. Will I retain my spot on the wait list?

Yes, centres are working to ensure that their current wait lists are successfully merged with the online wait lists so that no one loses their place on the list.

7 How will I find out that a space has become available for my child?

When a space becomes available, the centre will get in touch with the person listed as the “Primary Contact”. Any additional contacts you have specified may also be contacted if the Primary Contact cannot be reached within a reasonable amount of time.

8 Can I contact a centre directly?

Yes. You are encouraged to directly contact the centre(s) you are interested in and arrange for a tour. Families are encouraged to visit the center(s) of their choice. Take along the ECDA Guide to Quality Child Care for tips on what to look for and questions to ask.

9 How will I know what position I am on the wait list?

The Wait Lists for each centre is confidential and not available to the public.

10 How does my child get enrolled into a centre?

When a space becomes available, the centre will contact you directly to offer you that space. You must verbally agree to accept the offer. If you do not accept the offer, your child’s name will be removed from that centres wait list. If you change your mind, you will need to re-register to that centre in order to gain a new spot on their wait list.

11 What happens to my other registration(s) when my child is accepted into a centre?

When you agree to accept a centres offer, your child’s name will automatically be removed from all other wait lists.

12 I have a preferred centre that I want my child to attend. What happens if I am accepted by another centre? Can I still remain on the wait list of my preferred centre?

No. If you accept an offer by another centre, you will need to resubmit your registration to your preferred centre in order to obtain a spot on their wait list.
