Self-regulation, which is the ability to monitor and adjust to the environment around oneself, is an important part of understanding and supporting the children that we work with. In this interactive presentation, the importance of personal self-regulation, understanding the development of self-regulation, what self-regulation does not consist of, and strategies to build self-regulation.
Dr. Colin Andrew Campbell is a psychologist employed with the PEI Public Schools Branch and is a sessional lecturer with the UPEI psychology department. He was recently employed with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and was also an associate with the Child, Adolescent, and Family Centre of Ottawa. Dr. Campbell completed his Ph.D. at McGill University in the School/Applied Child Psychology program in September 2016, on the topic of how anxiety influences executive function. He completed his CPA accredited pre-doctoral internship with Hamilton Health Sciences, with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders.
