Approved for 6 hours of ongoing PD (2 hours each session)
PLEASE NOTE - This is the first evening of a mandatory 3 part training session.
Description: Have you been called upon to facilitate a learning opportunity for your staff, colleagues, parents or members of the community in connection to your role as an early childhood educator? Perhaps you’ve attended a meeting or learning opportunity and thought “I could do this too” or “I have something to offer because of my experience”. Perhaps you hesitated because you were not confident to be the facilitator or did not feel you knew how to be effective in working with adults. If any of this sounds like you or you are looking for help with something you have booked to facilitate in the near future - consider this your invitation to join a group of fellow early childhood educators for this 3 part Facilitation learning series
Participants will:
- Examine best practice in working with children and the linkages to adult education principles
- Explore their personal beliefs and assumptions about learning
- Identify and experience the skills needed to effectively facilitate learning opportunities for their peers/colleagues/staff/parents or other adults as needed
- Develop their confidence and skills in facilitating groups through a safe and engaging learning process
- Apply their learning in the preparation of an adult learning experience, participants will be facilitating in the near future
