Our Goals

The Early Childhood Development Association of PEI exists so that Early Childhood Educators are supported to deliver high quality early learning and child care services and programs.

  1. Early Childhood Educators have tools and information to be high quality, professional ECEs.
    • 1.1. There is a high level of awareness of ethical practice in the profession.
    • 1.2. There are consistent standards of practice for Early Childhood Educators.
    • 1.3. There is a high level of pedagogical awareness in the profession.

  2. Early Childhood Educators have resources and supports to continuously improve their skills through their careers.
    • 2.1. ECEs can gain skills and knowledge of current best practice.
    • 2.2. Post-Secondary institutions offer educations opportunities to meet the needs of the sector.
    • 2.3. ELCC directors have the skills and knowledge to run successful ELCC Centres.
