10 Reasons to Choose Quality Early Learning and Child Care

Expert knowledge Early childhood educators are experts in child development and are trained to create inspiring learning environments!
Intentionality Early childhood educators provide your child the gift of time and attention. They will stop and explore the new flowers or jump in the mud puddles with your child.
Young at heart Early childhood educators know how to have fun! They’re not afraid to be silly and laugh with your child; all while nurturing your child’s creativity and helping to build their self-confidence.
Setting limits Every child needs reasonable boundaries, such as no playing ball inside. Early childhood educators set limits and support families in doing the same.
Love of literacy Early childhood educators read and tell stories, sing songs, and do puppet shows to inspire a love of language and to build early literacy skills.

Confidence boost Early childhood educators provide safe opportunities for your child to be independent and to become confident in their personality and decision making skills.
Inspired learning Early childhood educators ask open-ended questions to inspire creative thought and curiosity, to encourage children to explore, and to make learning fun.
Life skills Early childhood educators use their expertise to develop programs that use play as a tool for teaching math, literacy, science and essential life skills that last for life!
Making friends Early childhood educators are educated to appropriately support children to gain social skills, which are so important in making friends and developing positive relationships!
Helping hand Everyone gets stumped by parenting from time to time - juggling schedules, demands, and behaviours. When it gets tough and you need someone to talk to, reach out to your child’s early childhood educator!

ECDA Membership Renewals: Now Open

July 30th, 2016

The ECDA is very excited to be launching our simplified online membership renewal process!
We have created a PDF visual tutorial with step by step instructions to renew.

Please note that if you are a renewing member of the ECDA, you should NOT use the "Apply Now" form on the public site. You must log in to the Member Area and renew from there. If you have trouble logging in, call (902) 368-1866. If you are a new member, select "Apply Now" under the Membership drop down menu to apply to become a member of the ECDA.

How to renew your membership now (click here to view visual tutorial PDF):

  1. Visit www.ecdaofpei.ca
  2. If you are a renewing member, click LOG IN at the top left hand corner of the home page.
  3. Enter your username and password, and then click LOG IN. Your username is your email OR your First and Last name. Your password is your membership number (ex: ecda000) found on the back of your membership card, unless you had previously changed it. Call Bonnie at (902) 368-1866 if you need help remembering your log in information.
  4. Hover over My Account on the main menu, and select Renew Membership from the drop-down menu.
  5. Complete all fields marked with a red asterisk. You can review Membership Types and Payment Options in the right side menu. Please make sure your contact information is up to date.
  6. Click SUBMIT at the bottom of the form. If you have properly completed the form, you will be taken to a confirmation page and you will receive an email confirming your subscription to our mailing list.
  7. Once your payment is received your membership will be activated. Send your membership fee payment to the ECDA by:
  • PayPal by selecting it as your Payment Method on the online form
  • Email Transfer to: payments@ecdaofpei.ca
  • Cash: Please hand deliver any payments made in cash
  • Cheque or money order payable to: The ECDA of PEI. Please identify the cheque or money order # on your registration form when using this option
