Workshop Description
This session will explore ways to make healthy and appealing recipes on a budget. Learn how to make recipes healthier using simple food swaps. Get tips on saving money at the grocery store and leave with new ideas for child focused meals and snacks. Participants are asked to bring at least two recipes they currently use at their centre.
Facilitator Bio: Margaret Young, RD (PE)
Margaret Young is a Registered Dietitian with Sobeys Pharmacy. She has worked with Sobeys Pharmacy for more than 10 years, first in New Brunswick and now in Summerside and Stratford PEI. Prior to joining Sobeys, she worked for Public Health in Nova Scotia where her role included approving daycare menus. Margaret has a Master's of Science in Applied Human Nutrition from Mount Saint Vincent University and is a member of the PEI Dietitians Registration Board and Dietitians of Canada. Margaret loves spending time in the kitchen with her two young children and is passionate about creating healthy, flavourful meals that her kids enjoy.
